Attwood Marshall Lawyers is pleased to announce that Wills and Estates Associate Larisa Kapur has completed her accreditation as an ‘aged care professional’, which will assist her advising clients as they transition to retirement or aged care. Larisa is an experienced estate planning lawyer, having joined the Wills & Estates team in 2014 and is located at our busy Robina Town Centre office.
Expert advice when transitioning to aged care
Larisa Kapur, Associate at Attwood Marshall Lawyers, has completed the gold standard Accredited Aged Care Professional program provided by Aged Care Steps. The well-deserved accolade comes after Larisa has built up a specialisation in helping the elderly with estate planning as well as their transition to aged care as she approaches her 10-year anniversary with the firm.
Larisa works closely with Senior Associate Debbie Sage who is also an Accredited Aged Care Professional and celebrates 18 years with the firm this year.
Having two aged care professional accredited specialists in our Wills and Estates department is testament to the firm’s presence in the aged care sector, and our ability to give clients trusted legal advice in this specialised and ever-growing area.
Transitioning to aged care can be an extremely overwhelming time in someone’s life, and there are a lot of important decisions to be made by the persons concerned and their families. Being guided by an experienced financial advisor and lawyer who understands the industry and the impact of these decisions can ensure people make informed decisions that align with their best interests now and in the future.
Aged Care Steps Program
Larisa joins the ranks of 2,000 other accredited aged care professionals that have undergone assessment with Aged Care Steps, the leading provider of aged care training for financial advice professionals in Australia.
The program is aimed at lawyers, financial planners and accountants who advise clients on their access to care services. It allows these professionals to further develop the knowledge and skills needed for providing specialised aged care advice, and to stay up to date with the everchanging regulations and policies that impact the aged care sector.
Accredited specialists have gained the knowledge and confidence to develop creative solutions and present them to clients, who in turn can make informed decisions that suit their personal, lifestyle, and care needs.
The course covers an overview of the complicated aged care industry, including accommodation choices, residential fees and Centrelink and Veterans’ Affairs services. It also ensures professionals have a thorough understanding of what is happening on a practical level within the care industry, learning from case studies, exploring tips and traps for couples, and learning how to best negotiate with aged care facilities.
