Never too young or too old! – NSW First Home and New Home Grant – by Jacinta Bennett

Everyone in some stage of their life would like to own a property or two and the most important thing to remember, is that you are never too young or too old to begin your property portfolio.

FIRST HOME GRANT

We are happy to announce from 1 October 2012 to 31 December 2013 the First Home Owners Grant will increase from $7,000.00 to $15,000.00, although the grant will only be available to purchasers of newly built homes costing up to $650,000.00. Therefore the current $7,000.00 First Home Grant for existing homes will no longer be available for Contracts dated after 30 September 2012.

NEW HOME GRANT

If you are not a first home owner and have or intend to purchase vacant land to build a new home valued up to $450,000.00 or have or intend to purchase a new home valued up to $650,000.00 you will be eligible for the New Home Grant of $5,000.00 from 1 July 2012. The grant is targeted at all non-first home purchasers and is available to investors as well as owner occupiers. It will be payable by reduction of stamp duty or a refund once stamp duty has been paid.
