Our Charities & Club Sponsorships
The Salvation Army
Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been proudly supporting The Salvation Army Wills Days across the Gold Coast, Tweed Shire and Brisbane communities since 2005. The Salvation Army arrange for members of the public to attend each Wills Day and have a Will drafted in return for a donation that goes to the charity. Our dedicated lawyers donate their time and provide this service for free to ensure The Salvation Army receives all proceeds raised from the fundraising program.
The Salvation Army helps more than 1 million Australians every year – that’s one person every 30 seconds!
Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service
Attwood Marshall Lawyers is proud to support and partner with Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service for the non-profit’s Wills Days. The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been saving lives since 1975. The service is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The service aims to raise $12 million each year through sponsorships, volunteers, support group activities, events and partnerships with the community.
To support Westpac Rescue Helicopter Services, our solicitors donate their time to help draft Wills during Wills Week, with 100% of each booking fee being donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Currumbin Wildlife Hospital
Attwood Marshall Lawyers is proud to support and partner with the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital. The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital opened in 1989 and has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world. The hospital admits approximately 14,000 wildlife animals each year. Its mission is to treat, rehabilitate and release sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife. The not-for-profit service is provided free of charge to the community, and the hospital relies on community donations to continue performing its important work.
As a corporate partner we join the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital for several fundraising events throughout the year. We also host multiple Community Wills Days to raise vital funds and support the important work the hospital does in saving Australian wildlife.
Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club
Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club was founded in the 1958/59 season. A public meeting on 28 November 1958 aimed to gather support for a club to patrol Coolangatta Beach. The club became affiliated with Point Danger Branch on 28 February 1959, but recruiting active members proved challenging, and the first official patrol began over Easter 1959.
Located on one of Australia’s most beautiful beaches, the club continues to serve the community and keep Coolangatta Beach safe. Beyond surf life saving, the club offers a wide range of activities, including beach patrols, fundraising, surf sports, junior programs (nippers), training, and ocean swimming. Members also enjoy social events year-round, such as raffles, luncheons, golf days, barefoot bowls, and trivia nights.
Cancer Council Queensland
Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a supporter of the Cancer Council Queensland for many years. We assist the Council with both their Wills Service as well as staff fundraising through events such as the iconic annual Daffodil Day and Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
We are one of the few Gold Coast law firms that Cancer Council Queensland refers members of the public to for creating or updating their Wills free of charge in return for leaving a bequest to the charity.
By including a charity in your Will, you can leave a lasting legacy that supports a cause you are passionate about and truly makes a difference to the community.
Australian Red Cross
Attwood Marshall Lawyers proudly supported the Red Cross Wills Days across the Gold Coast and Tweed Shire communities for over 15 years. The Red Cross arranged for members of the public to attend a Wills Day and have a Will prepared by our dedicated Wills & Estates lawyers, in return for a specified donation which was received entirely by the Red Cross. These programs also highlighted the opportunity to grant a bequest to a charity in your Will.
The Red Cross works with the most vulnerable people and communities in Australia and internationally, and its fundraising program is vital for the organisation’s emergency and international work.
Gold Coast Turf Club
As one of the few legal firms that provide specialist advice in the Thoroughbred Breeding and Racing industry and Equine Law, Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a sponsor and supporter of the Gold Coast Turf Club since 2008. We sponsor and have naming rights to seven races on our Attwood Marshall Lawyers Raceday held every year on Caulfield Cup Day. We also sponsor the Silk Stocking listed race on Gold Coast Cup Raceday.
The Gold Coast Turf Club hosts approximately 60 race meetings across the year, and is one of the country’s busiest racecourses.
Tweed Palliative Support
Tweed Palliative Support is a well-established community run organisation that provides free support services for people living with a life-limiting illness. Trained volunteers offer a range of services to palliative clients, their families and carers including personal care, shopping, transport to and from medical appointments, loan of medical equipment and emotional support.
Tweed Palliative Support opened the doors to New South Wales’s only adults’ 24/7 community hospice Wedgetail Retreat in 2015. The retreat provides accommodation and services for terminal individuals and their families, offering a welcoming home-like environment surrounded by the rainforest in their final days of life.
TPS receives minimal government funding and relies almost completely on community donations, income from its Op Shops, grants from local organisations and fundraising drives. TPS gives emphasis to end-of-life options and maintaining a high quality of life, which is why Attwood Marshall Lawyers has become involved in supporting such a worthy organization.
AWLQ
Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) works with local councils, state government, rescue groups and the community to improve the outcomes for stray and surrendered pets, and are renowned for their unique and inventive programs, initiatives and rehoming strategies. Animal Welfare League Queensland’s Rehoming Program is one of the most successful in the country, with an average of 200 animals each week being adopted from their Rehoming Centres and Shelters.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers promotes the organisation through its Golden Hearts Seniors Pet Support Program and Legacy Pet Program. The Legacy Pet Program ensures that when a person passes away, their companion animals are adopted into loving homes that best suit their needs. Attwood Marshall Lawyers and its staff also regularly donate food and toys for the animals at the shelters, waiting to be rehomed.
Mater Foundation
Mater opened its first hospital in Queensland in 1906 and since then has built up a significant presence in the local area and across Australia, responding to unmet community needs and providing compassionate healthcare and world-class medical research to those most in need.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers first teamed up with Mater in 2023 and now has an ongoing involvement in the foundation’s Free Wills Service. The program involves members of the public having their simple Wills prepared by our highly experienced lawyers for free, provided they leave a gift to the Mater Foundation in their Will.
Aged Care We Care Appeal
Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a participant in the annual ‘Aged Care We Care’ Christmas Appeal for several years. As part of the charity drive, our staff collect gifts to be donated to elderly residents in aged care facilities and hospitals on the Gold Coast from November through to early December. Our lawyers love being able to do their bit to collect as many Christmas gifts as possible to contribute to this wonderful cause.
Sadly, many aged care residents don’t have any family or friends to celebrate this time of year with, which means many will not receive a gift for Christmas. The gifts touch the lives of those who feel lonely and forgotten.
Bilambil Jets J.R.L.F.C
Bilambil Jets is a junior rugby league football club based in Bilambil Valley, just outside Coolangatta and Tweed Heads. The club provides teams in all age groups from U6 to U16, and relies on external sponsors, game day fundraising and volunteers to keep operating and making sure the playing fields are maintained.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers became a top-tier Club/Jersey Sponsor of the Bilambil Jets JRLFC in 2023, the same year the junior club celebrated its 40th anniversary. For over four decades the club has been building relationships within the local community, fostering young talent through the ranks of rugby league while also providing life skills and support to both the players and the volunteers who help run the club.
Southport Tigers R.L.F.C
Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a sponsor and supporter of the Southport Tigers Rugby League Football Club since 2009.
Southport Tigers compete in both the junior and senior Gold Coast Rugby League competitions. The firm has a long history with the club, which is based at Owen Park in Southport on the Gold Coast. Legal Practice Director Jeff Garrett is a former Gold Coast A Grade competition player and was fortunate enough to captain the 1986 Southport Tigers A Grade premiership team, who went on to win 3 premierships in a row.
We provide jersey sponsorship for the Tigers.
Mudgeeraba Redbacks J.R.L.F.C
Legal Practice Director Jeff Garrett became involved in the Mudgeeraba Redbacks Junior Rugby League Club when his son, Henry Garrett (now one of Attwood Marshall Lawyers’ compensation law associates) started playing in the under 9’s. During Henry’s long stint at the club, Jeff obtained his Level 2 Coaching Certificate and became the coaching director of the club. After winning a few premierships for the Under 15 and Under 17 divisions, he hung up the coaching boots in 2002 to concentrate on the running of Attwood Marshall Lawyers.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers is proud to give back to local clubs like this that can hold such influence in shaping the lives of our youth while also creating a sense of community for the families who support them.
Tweed United Football Club
Tweed United Football Club is one of the oldest football clubs on the Coast, born from the amalgamation of the Tweed Heads Soccer Club and Banora Point Soccer Club in 2012.
Located at Arkinstall Park, Tweed Heads South, Tweed United Football Club is one of the top 5 clubs on the Gold Coast, who actively promotes women’s sport.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers has sponsored the club’s jerseys as well as provided training shirts and kits for the womens’ divisions. Our Wills and Estates Department Manager Donna Tolley has been closely involved with the club since 2007 and was honoured as a Life Member in 2023.
Family of League Foundation
Attwood Marshall Lawyers is proud to support Family of League and take part in their various fundraising events throughout the year.
We believe in helping men, women, and children of the rugby league community who are in need.
The Family of League Foundation grew from the realisation that teamwork and mateship could be harnessed to serve those who needed help the most. The Foundation was established in 2002 and provides assistance to the rugby league community with everything from surgery, rehabilitation, equipment and specialist care to wellbeing visits to homes and hospitals to address social isolation and promote mental health.
The Doyles Art Award
Attwood Marshall Lawyers is proud to support The Doyles Art Award, an annual Australian art prize and exhibition that was established to honour one of Australia’s most well-known artists, d’Arcy Doyle.
The Doyles Art Award first commenced in 2004 and has established itself as the longest-running painting award on the Gold Coast. The annual exhibition takes place in the historic Mudgeeraba Town Hall each June, and the award carries a sizeable $30,000 prize pool across several competition categories.
With the help of its sponsors, benefactors and the community, the Awards have expanded throughout the years. The event is run by a not-for-profit organisation that remains nearly entirely volunteer driven. Attwood Marshall Lawyers support the Doyles Art Award as a platinum sponsor.
Special Children's Christmas Parties
Each year, Attwood Marshall Lawyers sponsors The Special Children’s Christmas Parties. The goal is simple; to put smiles on children’s faces!
The children invited are children who suffer from serious illnesses, physical or intellectual impairment, domestic violence, or living in underprivileged circumstances. The event is a wonderful opportunity for children to come together, enjoy entertainment and amusement rides, animal farms, craft and a host of other activities. Each child receives food and drinks and 2-3 toys, plus a show bag full of goodies.
We are proud to be able to contribute to this wonderful event each year and support children in our community.
Teenage Adventure Camps
Teenage Adventure Camps Queensland is a registered charity that runs an annual week-long adventure camp bringing together teenagers who are suffering from a life-threatening or terminal illness.

Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport
For more than ten years, Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been gifting tickets to disadvantaged children to attend “Circus Quirkus,” an annual event hosted by Broadwater Southport Rotary Club.
The non-animal circus provides free entertainment to families and carers with children from the Gold Coast, allowing them to enjoy the spectacle of clowns, jugglers, acrobats, magicians and more.
The rotary club also sends funds raised by the event to the Gold Coast University’s Hospital Foundation, which uses the money to buy equipment for the children’s wards of the hospital. The club’s donations from 2022, for example, secured the purchase of a Twin Can Med Bed, which allows premature twins to be cared for together after birth.
Lions Club of Palm Beach Currumbin
Attwood Marshall Lawyers supports the Lions Club of Palm Beach Currumbin in its efforts to raise vital funds for special needs children. Each year, the club hosts the World Festival of Magic, a 90-minute family-oriented show that has been touring for well over 20 years in cities across Australia.
It’s only with the support of local businesses that the event can take place. Business owners donate a chosen number of tickets to families with special needs children, who in turn can attend the event and appreciate the joys of community, magic and laughter.
The PBC Lions Club is a community service organisation that is determined to make a difference. It is a member club of Lions Australia, which celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2022, and now boasts over 1200 clubs and 25,000 members who give back through different community-based programs and initiatives of their choice, depending on their area.
