The Salvation Army

Attwood Marshall Lawyers have been proudly supporting The Salvation Army Wills Days across the Gold Coast and Tweed Shire communities since 2005. The Salvation Army arrange for members of the public to attend each Wills Day and have a Will drafted in return for a specified donation. Our dedicated lawyers donate their time and provide this service for free to ensure The Salvation Army receives all proceeds raised from the fundraising program.

Every Christmas, Attwood Marshall Lawyers have a tradition of collecting gifts and hamper food items for a family struggling in our local community.

The Salvation Army helps more than 1 million Australians every year – that’s one person every 30 seconds!

In a typical week across Australia the Salvation Army provide*:

  • 100,000 meals for the hungry
  • 2,000 beds for the homeless
  • 5,000 to 8,000 food vouchers
  • 1,000 people with assistance in finding employment
  • Refuge to 500 victims of abuse
  • Assistance to 500 people addicted to drugs, alcohol or gambling
  • Several thousand people with counselling
  • 3,000 elderly people with aged care services
  • 1000 people in the court system with chaplaincy services
  • Family tracing services which locate 40 missing family members

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to support and partner with The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service for their Wills Days.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been saving lives since 1975. The service is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

It costs approximately $40 million each year to keep the helicopters and crews ready to respond when needed. Approximately $12 million of that cost is raised through sponsorships, volunteers, support group activities, events and partnerships with the community.

To support Westpac Rescue Helicopter Services, our solicitors donate their time to help draft Wills during Wills Week, with 100% of each booking fee being donated to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service. 

Cancer Council Queensland

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a supporter of the Cancer Council Queensland for many years.  We assist the Council with both their Wills Service as well as staff fundraising through events such as the iconic annual Daffodil Day and The Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.

Currumbin Wildlife Hospital

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to support and partner with the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation.

The Currumbin Wildlife Hospital opened in 1989 and has grown to be one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world.  The hospital admits approximately 14,000 wildlife animals each year. Its mission is to treat, rehabilitate and release sick, injured, and orphaned native wildlife. The not-for-profit service is provided free of charge to the community, and the hospital relies on community donations to continue performing its important work. 

In addition to joining the Currumbin Wildlife Hospital with different fundraising events, including their world record attempt for the biggest beach parade involving people wearing koala visors at the Gold Coast Beach Parade in 2021, we also host Community Wills Days throughout the year to raise vital funds for the foundation.

Australian Cancer Research Foundation

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to partner with the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF).

It is the Australian Cancer Research Foundation’s mission to outsmart cancer by providing the technology, equipment and infrastructure Australian researchers need to continuously explore new and improved ways to prevent, detect, and treat all types of cancer.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers host Community Wills Weeks to support the Australian Cancer Research Foundation. When booking an appointment at an ACRF Wills Day, 100% of the booking fee is donated directly to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation to help raise vital funds for cancer research.

Special Children's Christmas Parties

Each year, Attwood Marshall Lawyers sponsor The Special Children’s Christmas Parties.

The goal is simple; to put smiles on children’s faces!

The children invited are children who suffer from serious illnesses, physical or intellectual impairment, domestic violence, or living in underprivileged circumstances. 

The event is a wonderful opportunity for children to come together, enjoy entertainment and amusement rides, animal farms, craft and a host of other activities. Each child receives food and drinks and 2-3 toys, plus a show bag full of goodies. 

We are proud to be able to contribute to this wonderful event each year and support children in our community.

Australian Red Cross

Since 2003, Attwood Marshall Lawyers have been proudly supporting the Red Cross Wills Days across the Gold Coast and Tweed Shire communities. Red Cross arrange for members of the public to attend the Wills Day and have a Will prepared by our dedicated Wills & Estates lawyers, in return for a specified donation amount which goes entirely to the Red cross.

All proceeds go to the Red Cross fundraising program which is absolutely vital for the emergency and international work of the Red Cross. These programs also highlight the opportunity to grant a bequest to a charity in your Will.

Red Cross works with the most vulnerable people and communities in Australia and internationally. Their work is focused around seven priority areas.

Gold Coast Turf Club

As one of the few legal firms that provide specialist advice in the Thoroughbred Breeding and Racing industry, Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a sponsor and supporter of the Gold Coast Turf Club since 2008.

We sponsor and have naming rights to seven races on our Attwood Marshall Lawyers Raceday held every year on Caulfield Cup Day. We also sponsor the Silk Stocking listed race on Gold Coast Cup Raceday.

The Gold Coast Turf Club is home to Australia’s richest raceday, the Magic Millions. Hosting approximately 60 race meetings across the year, the Gold Coast Turf Club is one of the country’s busiest racecourses.

Tweed Palliative Support

Tweed Palliative Support is a well established community run organisation that provides free support services for people living with a life-limiting illness. Trained volunteers offer a range of services to palliative clients, their families and carers including personal care, shopping, transport to and from medical appointments, loan of medical equipment and emotional support.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers previously sponsored the “Light Up a Life Lunch” held at the Salt Bar Kingscliff on Friday 9th October 2015. The event was hosted by TV Presenter and Ambassador for Tweed Palliative Support and Wedgetail Retreat Natalie Gruzlewski, and was a sell out success with 200 guests attending the luncheon and fashion parade.

TPS receives minimal government funding and relies almost completely on community donations, income from its Op Shops, grants from local organisations and fundraising drives. TPS gives emphasis to end-of-life options and maintaining a high quality of life, which is why Attwood Marshall Lawyers has become involved in supporting such a worthy organization.

AWLQ

Animal Welfare League Queensland (AWLQ) work with local councils, state government, rescue groups and the community to improve the outcomes for stray and surrendered pets, and are renowned for their unique and inventive programs, initiatives and rehoming strategies. Animal Welfare League Queensland’s Rehoming Program is one of the most successful in the country, with an average of 200 animals each week being adopted from their Rehoming Centres and Shelters.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers promote the organisation through its Golden Hearts Seniors Pet Support Program and Legacy Pet Program.  The Legacy Pet Program ensures that when a person passes away, their companion animals are adopted into loving homes that best suit their needs.  Attwood Marshall Lawyers and its staff also regularly donate food and toys for the animals at the shelters, waiting to be rehomed.

Coolangatta S.L.S.C

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a proud sponsor of the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club for the past ten years.

The surf club is located in Marine Parade, Coolangatta, and offers free life guarding to the public during weekends and public holidays.

Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club is a collective team made up of a mix of people with a wide range of ages. They have the Nipper section for those aged 5 to 13. For those a little older, there is Active Senior / Past Active, Active Reserve (over 18 years), Active Cadet & Juniors, Long service and Life members many of whom regularly conduct Beach Patrols. In addition, they also have Associate members who do not patrol, but are greatly valued by their general support and involvement in many other facets of the Club. Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club can present young people with many opportunities for self development and growth.

Surf Lifesaving has a proud history among Australian tradition and is particularly strong in a location like the Gold Coast.

Surf Lifesaving volunteers graciously give up significant amounts of their time in pursuit of the safe guarding of other people’s lives. Attwood Marshall Lawyers is very proud of our association with the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club and look forward to a long relationship.

Tweed Coast Tigers AFL

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a sponsor and supporter of the Tweed Coast Juniors AFL Club since the club was formed in 2006 and commenced playing in the Northern Rivers JAFL League in 2007.

Our sponsorship provides support to teams from Under 8’s, Under 14’s and Under 15/16`s.

The Club has over 110 players registered and the home ground is situated at the Barry Sheppard Oval at Round Mountain.

Southport Tigers R.L.F.C

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been a sponsor and supporter of the Southport Tigers Rugby League Football Club since 2009.

We provide jersey sponsorship for the Tigers.

Southport Tigers compete in both the junior and senior Gold Coast Rugby League competitions. The club is based at Owen Park in Southport on the Gold Coast.

Tweed United Football Club

Tweed United Football Club is one of the oldest football clubs on the Coast born from the amalgamation of the Tweed Heads Soccer Club and Banora Point Soccer Club in 2012.  Located at Arkinstall Park, Tweed Heads South, Tweed United Football Club is one of the top 5 clubs on the Gold Coast, who actively promotes women’s sport.  Attwood Marshall Lawyers sponsor the Women’s Division 1 team in the Metro League competition.

The Doyles Art Award

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to support the legacy of The Doyles Art Award, which was established to honour one of Australia’s most well-known artists, d’Arcy Doyle. 

The Doyles Art Award first commenced in 2004 and has since established itself as the longest-running painting award on the Gold Coast. The annual exhibition takes place in the historic Mudgeeraba Town Hall each June, and the award carries a sizeable $20,000 prize pool across its three competition categories.

Family of League Foundation

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to support Family of League and take part in their various fundraising events throughout the year. 

We believe in helping men, women, and children of the rugby league community who are in need. 

The Family of League Foundation grew from the realisation that teamwork and mateship could be harnessed to serve those who needed help the most. The Foundation was established in 2002 and provides assistance to the rugby league community with everything from surgery, rehabilitation, equipment and specialist care to wellbeing visits to homes and hospitals to address social isolation and promote mental health. 

OzGREEN

OzGREEN empowers people to create environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable communities. 

They offer a range of programs throughout the year to connect with the community and engage and equip people to become leaders of positive change. 

As an environmentally conscious law firm, we have lawyers who have completed the training to become a facilitator for OzGREEN’s “Youth Leading the World” Program. The “Youth Leading the World” Program is an award-winning environmental learning and leadership program that empowers young people to take action. The program seeks to build a movement of inspired environmental leaders.

The Busy Schools

The BUSY Schools offers an alternative learning solution for Year 11 and 12 students to re-engage with education and complete senior school, while getting a head-start into employment.

It is a not-for-profit organisation that offers their students education and employment training with no fees attached. Students complete an individualised educational program, learn skills for life and can start paid employment and training while still studying.

The BUSY Schools is approved by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board under the Education (Accreditation of Non-State Schools) Act 2017 and is entirely self-funded.

Their vision is to have more youth completing school, more young people in meaningful employment and, as a result, expose more communities to positive change. The team at The BUSY Schools understand the needs of their students and are dedicated to building positive, respectful relationships to maximise student engagement and enhance educational achievement.
