Legal Practice Director
Jeff is the Legal Practice Director and Managing Partner of the firm. He first joined Attwood Marshall Lawyers as an Articled Law Clerk in 1981. Jeff quickly excelled under the tutelage of founding partner Bob Marshall, becoming a partner in 1991 and later achieving dual accreditation as a specialist in personal injury law.
Jeff has served as the firm’s managing partner since 1998 and has also built-up significant expertise in litigation, Wills and Estates, commercial law, and equine law.
Charles heads up the Commercial Litigation team, with a particular focus on property disputes, building and construction disputes, business shareholder/director disputes, and various other litigious areas. His extensive portfolio ranges from handling multi-million-dollar claims in the Federal Court of Australia to providing invaluable assistance to family-owned companies and individuals.
Charles excels in alternative dispute resolution, recognising that only a small fraction of cases proceed to trial in Australia. His specialist accreditation from the Law Society of NSW underscores his proficiency in this highly competitive field.
Debbie is a Partner in the Wills and Estates and Aged Care teams. With more than 20 years’ experience in the field, she has built up extensive expertise and skills with a primary focus on estate administration and elder law matters.
As an Accredited Aged Care Professional with Aged Care Steps, Debbie heads up Attwood Marshall Lawyers’ Aged Care department and provides advice to clients regarding transitioning to aged care and retirement planning.
Lucy has worked exclusively in Wills and estate disputes since 2010. As head of the firm’s Estate Litigation team, Lucy specialises in family provision disputes and other litigious estate matters. She has also developed expertise in guardianship, financial management law and public trustee disputes.
She is a valuable member of professional association Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and her vast knowledge and steely determination instil confidence in clients who are aggrieved by a family member’s decisions upon their death.
Hayley has over 20 years’ experience in the legal industry and heads our Family Law department, acting for clients across matrimonial and de facto property disputes, financial agreements, parenting disputes, and divorce applications.
Through years of handling high-conflict family disputes with intricate property and financial issues, she has also developed a strong knowledge in complex estate planning. Hayley is a Member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia and the Family Law Practitioners Association.

Sydney Legal Advice FAQs
What legal services do you provide?
Attwood Marshall Lawyers in Sydney offer a full range of legal services, including family law, compensation and personal injury claims, estate litigation, wills and probate, property law and conveyancing, commercial law, dispute resolution, aged care advice, equine law, and criminal law.
Does Attwood Marshall Lawyers offer online or after-hours appointments in Sydney?
Yes. We understand that not everyone can attend an appointment during regular business hours. That’s why we offer flexible appointment options, including after-hours and weekend consultations by request. We also provide phone and video call appointments, so you can connect with our lawyers easily.
This meeting is an important opportunity for you to tell your story, explain your circumstances, and ask any initial questions.
Depending on the type of legal issue, your lawyer will:
- Provide preliminary advice tailored to your situation
- Outline the next steps in the legal process
- Discuss the timeframe and potential outcomes
- Explain the costs involved and how our fees work
Our goal is to ensure you leave your consultation with a clear understanding of your options and how we can help you move forward. From there, your lawyer and our support team will keep you informed at every stage, and you will always have access to us via phone, video, or face-to-face appointments.
What should I look for when choosing a lawyer in Sydney?
There has been a significant increase in the number of lawyers practicing in the Australian legal profession, so it can be hard to know how to find the right lawyer to represent you.
When selecting a lawyer, consider how established and reputable the law firm is, if there is an office near you that is accessible, and if the lawyer has specialist knowledge and skills in the area of law you need help with.
Legal matters can take time to resolve, so it is important to find a lawyer you can connect with and communicate effectively with.
At Attwood Marshall Lawyers, we combine decades of experience with a client-first approach to deliver practical outcomes for individuals, families, and businesses across Sydney. In everything that we do, we embody our core values of integrity, understanding and responsibility.
Does Attwood Marshall Lawyers offer a No Win, No Fee arrangement?
Yes. Our Sydney lawyers offer a no win no fee guarantee on all personal injury and compensation claims. This means that you can pursue a motor vehicle accident claim, workers’ compensation claim, institutional abuse claim, medical negligence claim, or public liability claim without paying any upfront costs, and you only pay our fees if you win your case and receive compensation.
We offer a free, no obligation initial consultation for compensation claims so you can find out where you stand, ask any questions you may have about the no win, no fee arrangement, and get your claim underway.
Can Attwood Marshall Lawyers help me with family law matters in Sydney?
Absolutely. Our Sydney family lawyers assist clients with all family law matters including parenting orders and parenting plans, custody arrangements, divorce applications, property settlements, domestic and family violence, financial agreements, and surrogacy. We focus on resolving disputes with compassion, reducing conflict, while protecting the best interests of you and your family.
Can you help with buying or selling property in Sydney?
Yes. Our property lawyers can assist with all aspects of residential and commercial property transactions across Sydney and New South Wales. Whether you’re buying your first home, selling an investment property, or managing a complex commercial deal, we ensure the process is smooth, legally sound, and stress-free.
Does Attwood Marshall Lawyers handle estate disputes and contested Wills in NSW?
Our estate litigation lawyers are highly experienced in resolving Will disputes, family provision claims, and contested probate matters across Australia, with the state-specific knowledge to act in NSW. We understand these cases are often emotionally charged and complex. Our lawyers will guide you through the process with compassion while vigorously protecting your legal rights.
How do I know if I have a legal case?
If you’re unsure whether your situation requires legal action, the best step is to speak with our team to understand your rights. Our Sydney team will listen to your story, explain your options, and advise whether pursuing a case is worthwhile. You’ll leave the meeting with a clear understanding of your rights and next steps.
Why choose a full-service law firm instead of a boutique practice?
At Attwood Marshall Lawyers, you don’t have to choose between the personal attention of a boutique firm and the broad expertise of a larger practice – we offer the best of both worlds.
Each area of law is handled by lawyers who focus exclusively on their field, so you receive specialist advice backed by the latest knowledge and strategies. At the same time, our team works together across practice areas to deliver seamless solutions when life’s legal issues overlap.
For example, if you’re going through a separation, you may also need help selling property and updating your Will. Instead of juggling multiple firms, you can rely on one trusted team, with each matter handled by an expert who understands your bigger picture.
Backed by more than 80 years of service, and guided by our core values of integrity, understanding, and responsibility, we deliver not just legal advice, but peace of mind.

Proudly supporting access to justice through pro bono legal services
As part of our ongoing commitment to access to justice, we are proud to be a registered participant in the Law Society of New South Wales Pro Bono Scheme 2025. This initiative connects individuals who are unable to access Legal Aid with volunteer lawyers who provide legal help at no cost, or for a significantly reduced fee.
Through the scheme, eligible individuals may receive assistance with legal advice, document preparation, court or mediation representation, and ongoing support, depending on the nature of their case and available resources.
We understand that navigating the legal system can be overwhelming, particularly for those facing financial hardship. By volunteering our services, we aim to help bridge that gap and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

Find out more about the charities and clubs we sponsor and support by clicking here.
Each year, we host Community Wills Days in conjunction with several important and hard-working charities. Community Wills Days are a great initiative to help people draft a legally binding Will and support the vital work these charities do.
When someone registers to attend a Community Wills Day, they pay a nominal booking fee and that fee is donated to the charity. Our team members donate their time to draft the Wills, helping people plan, protect, and preserve their wishes.
We always welcome new opportunities to partner with charities that help save lives and support our community.
