Charles commenced his articled clerkship at his father's law firm in 2004 and practised in Brisbane and Sydney prior to joining Attwood Marshall Lawyers.
He has a broad commercial litigation practice with a focus on property disputes, building disputes, shareholder/director disputes, equity, contract, insolvency and consumer disputes.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers' litigation practice has become a prominent force on the eastern seaboard, and Charles’ clients include listed companies, private companies and individuals from across the country.
Having previously acted for international corporations and blue-chip Australian companies, Charles brings significant experience to this unforgiving area of law enabling him to secure significant results for his clients – ranging from multi-million-dollar claims in the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia, to smaller claims on behalf of family-owned companies and individuals.
He approaches his clients’ matters pragmatically and obtains the best results by advising upon all options available and understanding his clients’ goals.
With only 5% of all litigated matters in Australia proceeding to trial on average, Charles understands the importance of rigorous negotiation and the considered implementation of alternative dispute resolution options, and his specialist dispute resolution accreditation from the Law Society of NSW puts him at the pinnacle of his peers in this very competitive area of law.
He entered the legal profession because of a strong desire to assist those who have been taken advantage of, and he enjoys the challenge, the intellectual stimulation and the diversity of the work associated with the area.
Charles holds a Bachelor of Business (Communication) and Bachelor of Laws, and is admitted to the High Court of Australia.

Commercial Litigation Partner and NSW Law Society Accredited Specialist in Dispute Resolution, Charles Lethbridge, featured on A Current Affair to discuss the case, which involves the body corporate of a neighbouring gated community claiming ownership of the waterway and demanding residents pay annual fees or face proceedings for trespass.
The dispute touches on title searches, private waterway ownership, and whether residents were ever properly informed of the body corporate’s claim over the lake.

Commercial Litigation Partner, Charles Lethbridge recently hit the airwaves to discuss private health insurer, Bupa being forced to repay tens of millions of dollars after incorrectly rejecting clients’ claims.
Charles spoke on ABC Melbourne Radio Drive progam with host, Ali Moore explaining that, in his experience, health insurers failing to pay out on policies is a common issue, with his team receiving similar enquiries from clients on a weekly basis.
He also commented that the $35million Bupa was ordered to repay was a “drop in the ocean” compared to the company’s Asia-Pacific turnover of $12.2 billion.
