Attwood Marshall Lawyers welcomes Property and Commercial Lawyer Bronwyn Scofield to the firm

We are excited to announce the expansion of our property and commercial law team with the addition of Bronwyn Scofield, an experienced lawyer who over the course of her career has built up expertise in commercial business agreements and conveyancing. She will be an asset to our firm and to our clients.

Meet Bronwyn Scofield

Our dedicated property and commercial law team has grown with the addition of Bronwyn Scofield, who brings expertise in commercial and retail leases, business structuring, and the buying and selling of businesses.

Having worked in the legal and financial sectors for her entire professional career, Bronwyn has held various positions as a receptionist, secretary, personal assistant, and paralegal, before deciding to further pursue her passion for law and undertake a law degree at the age of 40.

Bronwyn completed her Bachelor of Laws in 2018. She studied part-time through Central Queensland University while working full-time as a property law, business and conveyancing paralegal. She completed her Practical Legal Training at the College of Law in Brisbane and was admitted as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2019.

She has vast experience drafting and advising clients on contracts for residential, commercial and off-the-plan sales and leasing. She also helps clients with buy-sell agreements, distribution agreements and trust deeds, as well as shareholder agreements and unitholder agreements.

Before joining Attwood Marshall Lawyers, Bronwyn worked at several small law firms in the Tweed Heads and Gold Coast areas. She says that the experience of working within a small team meant that she was given hands-on experience and greater responsibility in a range of different areas of law early on in her career. She enjoys a busy workload and is driven by seeing her clients succeed in their business and property goals.

At Attwood Marshall Lawyers, Bronwyn will primarily focus on business and commercial law. With her PEXA certification and significant experience in conveyancing, she will also be able to work on property matters in addition to her business and commercial focus.

A dedicated property and commercial law team

Bronwyn and the Property and Commercial team are ready to assist with all your business planning, operation and property needs.

As a team of eight lawyers and paralegals who practice exclusively in this area of law, we provide specialty services to advise clients on buying and selling businesses, retail and commercial leasing, business succession planning and franchising. We also represent our clients on matters related to management rights, trusts and company law, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, business and commercial transactions and structuring, as well as loans and securities.

We are a PEXA certified firm and can electronically deliver quick property transactions to provide greater certainty of a successful, on-time settlement. Servicing both Queensland and New South Wales, our team can assist buyers and sellers with residential homes and investment properties in both states.

Bronwyn will be based in Attwood Marshall Lawyers’ head office in Coolangatta, on the Gold Coast.

The local area has seen a significant boom in recent years for the development of new beachside apartment towers and retail precincts, offering significant opportunity for those operating in the commercial and real estate space.

The uptick in development has been in response to an increase in cross-border migration to the Gold Coast and more demand for apartment living.

In October 2022, the Gold Coast Bulletin reported that more than $1 billion worth of projects are currently in the works from Kirra down to Rainbow Bay.
