Jeremy is a Partner at Attwood Marshall and a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist (Compensation Law QLD) specialising in complex and catastrophic compensation claims.
Prior to commencing with Attwood Marshall, Jeremy was employed for six years by a barrister at the Inns of Court in Brisbane, wherein he gained invaluable experience at the “coalface” of compensation law litigation (settlement conferences, mediations, trials, court drafting, liability/evidence/quantum assessments, written advices, court applications). Whilst performing this work, Jeremy undertook his law degree at Bond University, from which he graduated with Honours, Deans List accreditation and various subject prizes.
Following his admission as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2008, Jeremy joined Attwood Marshall’s expert compensation law team and currently has some 15 years experience in the industry. He thoroughly enjoys working for a firm that is passionate about providing exceptional legal service and “going the extra mile” for those in need of assistance.
Whilst he predominantly acts in QLD compensation law claims, Jeremy is qualified in both QLD and NSW compensation law, and staunchly represents clients on both sides of the border. Jeremy has litigated claims in the District Court and Supreme Court in both states, as well as the Administrative Appeals Tribunal and the Queensland Civil & Administrative Tribunal.
Jeremy’s substantial experience and skill-set in compensation law enables him to fight passionately for hurt people to ensure they receive the best possible result. Jeremy is adept at dealing with complex legal issues and has developed a reputation for finding a way to win the most difficult of compensation cases – often in the face of overwhelming odds. Jeremy is passionate about the law, achieving justice for his clients and fighting on behalf of the underdog in ‘David v Goliath’ type claims against large and highly profitable insurance companies. He is empathetic, conscientious, approachable, and is skilled at communicating complex legal issues in “layman’s terms” to ensure that his clients are fully apprised as to every aspect of their claims. He has a formidable work ethic and is meticulous in his preparation of personal injury files to ensure that all his clients achieve their optimal result. He particularly excels in moderate to catastrophic claims, but strives to assist anyone in need – no matter the size or type of claim.
Jeremy regularly updates his knowledge through further study and PI courses to ensure that he remains at the forefront of the industry. In addition to his own work duties, Jeremy enthusiastically supervises, trains and mentors our junior lawyers, paralegals and other PI staff. He works determinedly to uphold Attwood Marshall’s renowned intent – “to help people”.
