Attwood Marshall Lawyers returns to the Southport CBD after an 18-year hiatus

News

Attwood Marshall Lawyers are excited to announce a new office location at Southport at Level 10, 36 Marine Parade Commercial Tower, which is part of the Australia Fair shopping complex.

From 2nd May 2023, Attwood Marshall Lawyers will be opening a new Southport office, as the firm continues to expand its services across South-East Queensland, and particularly in the Gold Coast- Brisbane corridor.

The new Southport location follows the firm’s expansion in the Brisbane CBD earlier this year, with well-established offices already operating out of Coolangatta, Robina Town Centre, and Kingscliff. The firm has offices in conveniently placed locations in major shopping centres with plenty of parking or close to public transport to make it as easy as possible to visit lawyers and obtain face to face advice. Although COVID saw the explosion of audio-visual meetings, most clients prefer to consult with their lawyers in person for such important, confidential legal matters.

The Southport office will see Attwood Marshall Lawyers’ most senior lawyers taking appointments for all areas of law including estate planning, estate litigation, family law, commercial litigation and dispute resolution, personal injury claims and compensation law, transitioning to aged care, property law and conveyancing, and commercial law.

With the Gold Coast’s major courthouse only a stone’s throw from the office, the move is set to be one that is welcomed by the firm’s lawyers as well as existing and new clients who reside in the northern Gold Coast suburbs. The office is situated on the 10th Level of the 36 Marine Parade Commercial Tower above Australia Fair shopping complex which offers over 180 stores including major retailers Coles, Woolworths, Kmart and Event Cinemas. Clients can park in the large multi-level car park whose entrance is on Marine Parade, or catch the tram to the Scarborough Street entrance to Australia Fair.

“It made sense for Southport to be our next office location. We want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for our clients to meet with our lawyers and be able to catch up on some shopping or errands while they are there,” said Legal Practice Director Jeff Garrett.

Southport is home to an estimated 37,000 people and identifies as the Gold Coast’s Central Business District. With the Broadwater Parklands, major hospitals, Gold Coast Aquatic Centre, and commercial infrastructure dominating the region, Southport continues to attract national and international investment.

“We are very selective with where we establish our offices ensuring they are easily accessible and provide a desirable work environment for our staff.”

“The Southport office is modern, spacious, and consistent with the atmosphere we create for our staff and clients across all our offices.”

“There are wonderful views over the Broadwater, as well as free onsite parking and an abundance of retail and dining outlets,” said Mr Garrett.

Mr Garrett expects the prominently located office to be well received by clients who live in Main Beach, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Labrador, Arundel, Parkwood, Molendinar, Ashmore, Bundall, Runaway Bay, Hope Island, and surrounding suburbs.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers had a presence in Southport for many years, only closing the Southport office in 2005 following a partnership restructure. The firm has many connections to Southport with Mr Garrett’s family moving to Southport from Brisbane in the mid 1970’s. Mr Garrett completed his education at the Southport High School and played A Grade rugby league for the Southport Tigers, captaining the premiership winning side in 1986.

“We look forward to connecting with the northern Gold Coast community as well as networking with likeminded businesses who can help us achieve our goal of helping people and changing their lives for the better.”
