Attwood Marshall Lawyers traces its foundations to post World War Two 1946 when the late Eric Attwood set up practice as a solicitor in the Tweed Heads – Coolangatta area.

Today Attwood Marshall Lawyers employs over 60 staff, and you can visit a lawyer at any of the firm’s conveniently located offices at Coolangatta, Robina Town Centre, Southport, Kingscliff, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.

The firm continues to expand to meet the growing demand from its Southeast Queensland and New South Wales markets.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers provide legal services spanning all areas of law including:

  • Compensation Law and Personal Injury Claims
  • Wills and Estates
  • Estate Litigation
  • Commercial Litigation and Dispute Resolution
  • Family Law
  • Property Law
  • Business and Commercial Law
  • Aged Care
  • Equine and Racing Law
  • Criminal Law

The firm leads a purpose-driven workplace, with its renowned intent being to help people and change their lives for the better.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers has been linked to some of the most iconic cases including a famous case involving US Scuba divers Tom and Irene Lonergan who disappeared while on a guided diving excursion off Cairns, which ultimately was the subject of a Hollywood movie.

Other landmark cases that the firm has achieved successful outcomes include a class action undertaken on behalf of more than 2,000 Australian women who had suffered an injury following silicon breast implant surgery, fighting against a billion-dollar company to uphold the legal rights of a social worker who was assaulted at the Manus Island Detention Centre in 2014, and facilitating the sale of Jewel of the Kimberley, the iconic Lake Argyle Resort for $31 million in 2022.

The firm has also played a key role in educating the community and calling for an inquiry into the conduct of NSW Trustee & Guardian as well as The Public Trustee of Queensland. Attwood Marshall Lawyers’ demand for an inquiry in 2019 was backed by politicians and received widespread support. After years of misconduct, The QLD Public Advocate finally reviewed the Public Trustee’s fees, charges, and practices, and shone a spotlight on the fact this institution does not meet its fiduciary obligations, nor do they meet modern expectations amongst the community.

With a rich history, a strong connection to the local community, dedication and drive to innovate and embrace change, and commitment to providing the best legal services and highest-quality customer experience, Attwood Marshall Lawyers are proud to continue to serve the community after 75 years.
