Gold Coast Business Excellence Award – May 2023
The first Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards took place in 1996, set up primarily to recognise family businesses. Now in its 28th year, the awards have 12 categories – including professional services, health and wellbeing, retail, manufacturing, IT, tourism and hospitality as well as a special Mayor’s Innovation GC Award for businesses that are using new technologies, data analytics, modelling or visualisation in unique ways.
The awards run for six months each year and are considered the region’s most comprehensive and prestigious business honours, recognising business operators that are the best in their field. The committee and judging panel include professionals from accountancy KPMG, Gold Coast City Council, Griffith University and Southern Cross Austereo.
The Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards seek to contribute to the Gold Coast’s identity and to foster pride in this business community. They also provide an opportunity to focus on the growing importance of the Gold Coast as a business hub and recognise leading businesses.
On Wednesday 31st May, the monthly Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards was held at Gold Coast City Council Chambers, Bundall.
Attwood Marshall Lawyers were proud to be named the May 2023 winner of the Professions and Services Award.
This award recognises companies that are meeting the increasing demand for their products and services and demonstrating a passion for exceeding customer expectations and service excellence.
To be considered for the award, the firm had to submit information about the company and its history, the services offered, marketing and distribution practices, management practices, innovation, and future plans.
Also taken into consideration was the firm’s commitment to local community outreach programs and charities.
Holly Gilholme, Attwood Marshall Lawyers Legal Practice Manager, accepted the award at the event on behalf of the firm, which was presented by Coraggio Chairperson Michelle Lagana.
As a monthly winner, Attwood Marshall Lawyers will now be considered for the Annual Award in the professions and services category as well as the Business of the Year Award, which will be presented at the Gold Coast Business Excellence Annual Gala Awards on Saturday 2nd December 2023 at The Star, Gold Coast.

Attwood Marshall Lawyers can trace its foundations back to 1946 when the late Eric Attwood started his practice in the Tweed Heads/Coolangatta area.
