Eliza Walker

A natural problem solver, Eliza was drawn to a career in law because she realised it would be a perfect fit for her skills. She was also attracted to the prospect of helping people and the dynamic nature of an ever-changing industry.

Eliza specialises in estate litigation, acting in relation to family provision claims and disputes involving informal and invalid Wills, and providing advice to executors and beneficiaries. She works closely with clients to guide them through emotionally taxing disputes with compassion and clarity.

Since being admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2019, Eliza has held positions at several law firms in Brisbane and the Gold Coast, mainly in the litigation space, including commercial and corporate disputes.

She decided to specialise in Wills and Estates after a family member passed away intestate (without a Will) in 2020. After witnessing first-hand the issues that can arise following the death of a loved one, she feels uniquely placed to assist clients in similar situations and cares deeply about helping them navigate their way through such challenging times.

Eliza thrives on acting as a translator for her clients, taking complex legal concepts and turning them into information that is easy to understand and engage with. She is known for her calm, compassionate and methodical approach to all her matters.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Griffith University and completed her Practical Legal Training at the College of Law Australia.

Eliza is a member of the Queensland Law Society and an industry mentor with both the Women Lawyers Association of Queensland and Griffith University.
