Patricia is a Senior Associate in our Wills and Estates team, based at our Brisbane office. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting from University of Queensland and is a member of the Queensland Law Society.
Patricia was first admitted to legal practice in the Supreme Court of the Australian Capital Territory, where she began her career in private practice before moving into several in-house counsel roles. She has been practicing in Queensland for the past decade.
At Attwood Marshall Lawyers, Patricia advises executors and beneficiaries across a broad range of estate administration matters, including preparing applications for grants of probate and letters of administration, resolving complex probate issues such as lost and informal wills, identification of beneficiaries and administering estates involving family/testamentary trusts, self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs), private companies, business interests and sophisticated asset structures.
Drawing on previous experience in estate litigation, Patricia is well placed to identify potential areas of dispute early and provide practical, strategic advice that promotes the efficient and effective administration of estates.
Patricia finds Wills and Estates to be a uniquely rewarding area of law that combines complex legal problem-solving with meaningful client outcomes. No two matters are ever the same, and she enjoys navigating the intersection of succession law, trusts, property law, equity and taxation to develop practical solutions for her clients.
She believes every estate tells a story about a person's life, family and legacy, and takes pride in helping executors, beneficiaries and families navigate significant life events, resolve disputes and to ensure the deceased’s wishes are carried out with care, clarity and respect.
