James Griffin

James holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Griffith University as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law and a Diploma of Business. He is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.

While studying his bachelor’s, James was awarded the Griffith Award for Academic Excellence throughout all four years of his degree for his consistent academic achievements. James was also able to fast track his degree completing it 6 months ahead of schedule and was admitted to the legal profession at just 21 years of age.

Prior to joining Attwood Marshall Lawyers in February 2024, James built up experience as a law clerk at other law firms on the Gold Coast in corporate and commercial law. He regularly worked on matters involving bodies corporate, construction and building defects, commercial law and personal injury and insurance claims. However, it was the litigation and dispute resolution matters that really sparked his interest.

Coming from a family of business owners, he has always known that he wanted to work in a commercial setting while also helping people.

Having to go through the litigation process can be one of the most stressful times in a person’s life. Being there to guide clients as they navigate this complex and challenging time while striving to achieve the best possible outcome has always been a strong motivator for James.

James is part of the firm’s Commercial Litigation team, headed by Partner and NSW Accredited Specialist in Dispute Resolution, Charles Lethbridge. The team takes on a wide range of matters, guiding clients through disputes involving banking, insurance, construction, business partnerships, class actions, defamation allegations, employment law and more.
